As part of the establishment and growth of a new management team, Fury Gold Mines is seeking an accountant to join the finance team. Reporting into the Controller, the successful individual will bring a strong accounting skillset, alongside a willingness to learn and grow, and will thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This role will be based in Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely trial balances for legal entities and the monthly consolidation.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
  • Review and analysis of GL accounts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Complete all required month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing procedures.
  • Identify accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Prepare GST/HST returns and other statutory filings as required.
  • Participate in preparation and coordination of annual audits.
  • Maintain payroll information in Ceridian, producing tax documents, ROEs and creating accounting entries.
  • Prepare all regulatory filings as required for the WCB and CRA.
  • Manage Beanworks (BW) AP processing software, ensuring correct approval flow and coding of invoices, prompting reviewers to approve before a payment run is executed. Ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors.
  • Process improvement: identifying areas to increase efficiency and/or reduce risk and executing these changes.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, as assigned by the Controller.

Requirements:

  • Completed or pursuing a professional accounting designation.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting (or equivalent in relevant experience).
  • Possess strong financial accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized, flexible, detail and results oriented.
  • Committed to work the hours required to meet all deadlines.

  • Mining industry experience.
  • Quickbooks experience.
  • Accounting designation.
  • Bilingual (English, French).

As part of the establishment and growth of a new management team, Fury Gold Mines is seeking a corporate secretarial administrator to join the team. The successful individual will have a keen attention to detail and thrives in a fast-pace, growth-oriented environment.

Role Description

The Corporate Secretarial Administrator is accountable to the CFO and the Board of Directors of the Company. Duties include ensuring the integrity of the governance framework, being responsible for the efficient administration of the Company’s record, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and implementing decisions made by the Board of Directors. This role will be based in Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Arranging, attending and minuting board and committee meetings for five legal entities;
  • Managing Company share transactions - issuing new shares and observing all legal requirements;
  • Proof-reading documents prior to publication or dissemination;
  • Maintaining internal documents, including consent resolutions, corporate records;
  • Monitoring securities market listings and compliance with listing standards;
  • Serving as governance liaison for officers and directors.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and provincial board governance laws, as well as compliance obligations with the requirements of regulatory authorities are met (e.g., stock exchange);
  • Overseeing and supporting the annual general meeting (AGM) of shareholders - including production of AGM materials and tracking of proxies; and 
  • Carrying out other projects or initiatives as requested by the CFO.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in a paralegal or corporate secretarial function
  • Experience of both Canadian and US publicly listed entities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with remote teams.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Bilingual (English, French) is an asset.
