Indigenous & Community Relationships
Our Commitment
Fury is committed to working with Indigenous peoples and communities to build and maintain effective, lasting, and mutually beneficial relationships. To achieve this commitment, we strive for relationships that are based on transparency, mutual respect, and trust.
We recognize the unique legal and constitutional rights of Indigenous Peoples and seeks to understand and respect their history, customs, beliefs, and traditions. This recognition and respect are integrated into our business approach and the way we operate.
Fury works to build and maintain a positive, long-term relationship with local Indigenous communities or groups through:
- Entering into appropriate ‘Relationship/Protocol Agreements to be informed, consulted, and involved with the key areas of our business including, dialogue and involvement in archaeological work, environmental assessments, and related studies.
- Identifying opportunities in several key areas including employment, business development, education, training, and community investments that appropriately reflect the interests of Indigenous peoples.
- Conducting timely and meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities and groups whose Treaty or Indigenous rights may be directly impacted by elements of our operations.
- Continuing to enhance employees’ understanding of Indigenous history and culture in Canada.
- Developing opportunities to increase our knowledge of the local environment and identify ways we can work together to preserve or enhance that environment for all to enjoy.
